The word of the Lord came to me: Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, in these words prophesy to them to the shepherds: Thus says the Lord GOD: Woe to the shepherds of Israel who have been pasturing themselves! Should not shepherds, rather, pasture sheep? You have fed off their milk, worn their wool, and slaughtered the fatlings, but the sheep you have not pastured. You did not strengthen the weak nor heal the sick nor bind up the injured. You did not bring back the strayed nor seek the lost, but you lorded it over them harshly and brutally. So they were scattered for the lack of a shepherd, and became food for all the wild beasts. My sheep were scattered and wandered over all the mountains and high hills; my sheep were scattered over the whole earth, with no one to look after them or to search for them.

Prawdziwy Pasterz
Pan skierował do mnie te słowa: «Synu człowieczy, prorokuj o pasterzach Izraela, prorokuj i powiedz im, pasterzom: Tak mówi Pan Bóg: Biada pasterzom Izraela, którzy sami siebie pasą! Czyż pasterze nie powinni paść owiec? Nakarmiliście się mlekiem, odzialiście się wełną, zabiliście tłuste zwierzęta, jednakże owiec nie paśliście. Słabej nie wzmacnialiście, o zdrowie chorej nie dbaliście, skaleczonej nie opatrywaliście, zabłąkanej nie sprowadziliście z powrotem, zagubionej nie odszukiwaliście, a z przemocą i z okrucieństwem obchodziliście się z nimi. Rozproszyły się owce moje, bo nie miały pasterza, i stały się żerem wszelkiego dzikiego zwierza. Rozproszyły się, błądzą moje owce po wszystkich górach i po wszelkiej wyżynie; i po całej krainie były owce moje rozproszone, a nikt się o nie nie pytał i nikt ich nie szukał.
Albowiem tak mówi Pan Bóg: Oto Ja sam będę szukał moich owiec i będę sprawował nad nimi pieczę». Ez 34, 1-6. 11
Wealth and poverty
Jesus said to his disciples: “Amen, I say to you, it will be hard for one who is rich to enter the Kingdom of heaven. Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for one who is rich to enter the Kingdom of God.” When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and said, “Who then can be saved?” Jesus looked at them and said, “For men this is impossible, but for God all things are possible.” Mt 19:23-26
Prawdziwe bogactwo
Jezus powiedział do swoich uczniów: «Zaprawdę, powiadam wam: Bogatemu trudno będzie wejść do królestwa niebieskiego. Jeszcze raz wam powiadam: Łatwiej jest wielbłądowi przejść przez ucho igielne, niż bogatemu wejść do królestwa niebieskiego». Gdy uczniowie to usłyszeli, bardzo się przerazili i pytali: «Któż więc może być zbawiony?» Jezus spojrzał na nich i rzekł: «U ludzi to niemożliwe, lecz u Boga wszystko jest możliwe». Mt 19, 23-26
Po takich słowach warto postawić pytanie, czy warto zabiegać o bogactwa tego świata?… Od dziecka wmawia się ludziom, żeby uczyć się, ponieważ nauka zapewni dobrą pracę i spokojne życie… Oczywiście nauka jest wspaniała, prowadzi do poznania prawdy i uszlachetnia umysł, ale to nie zgubny dobrobyt jest jej celem…
Dzisiejsze pierwsze czytanie ukazuje życiową prawdę o częstych skutkach powodzenia:
Dzięki swojej wielkiej przezorności, dzięki swoim zdolnościom kupieckim pomnożyłeś swoje majętności, a serce twoje stało się wyniosłe z powodu twego majątku. Dlatego tak mówi Pan Bóg: Ponieważ rozum chciałeś mieć równy rozumowi Bożemu, oto dlatego sprowadzam na ciebie cudzoziemców – najsroższych spośród narodów. Oni dobędą mieczy przeciwko urokowi twojej mądrości i zbezczeszczą twój blask. Ez 28, 5-7
To słowo skłania mnie dzisiaj do głębokiej pokory… Bóg przypomina mi w nim, że całe bogactwo materialne, duchowe, czy intelektualne posiadam dzięki Jego łasce i talentom, które złożył w moim sercu… W tym wszystkim mam oddawać Jemu chwałę i pamiętać o swojej małości i grzeszności… Wiem, że cały czas jestem delikatnym, glinianym naczyniem, które chce trzymać się blisko swojego Stwórcy…
Na koniec dodam słowa, które dają mi dzisiaj wielki pokój i nadzieję:
Jezus Chrystus, będąc bogatym, dla was stał się ubogim, aby was ubóstwem swoim ubogacić. Por. 2 Kor 8, 9
Jeśli mój Pan stał się najuboższym i ostatnim – to ja pragnę tego samego…
Panie, podziwiam dzisiaj Twoje ubóstwo, które jest dla mnie największym bogactwem… Uczyń mnie podobnym do Ciebie…
The beauty of Mary
When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting,
the infant leaped in her womb,
and Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit,
cried out in a loud voice and said,
“Blessed are you among women,
and blessed is the fruit of your womb.
And how does this happen to me,
that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
For at the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears,
the infant in my womb leaped for joy.
Blessed are you who believed
that what was spoken to you by the Lord
would be fulfilled.”
And Mary said:
“My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord;
my spirit rejoices in God my Savior
for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.
From this day all generations will call me blessed:
the Almighty has done great things for me
and holy is his Name.
He has mercy on those who fear him
in every generation.
He has shown the strength of his arm,
and has scattered the proud in their conceit.
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones,
and has lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has come to the help of his servant Israel
for he has remembered his promise of mercy,
the promise he made to our fathers,
