You know me

LORD, you have probed me, you know me:
you know when I sit and stand;
you understand my thoughts from afar.
You sift through my travels and my rest;
with all my ways you are familiar.
Where can I go from your spirit?
From your presence, where can I flee?
If I ascend to the heavens, you are there;
if I lie down in Sheol, there you are.
If I take the wings of dawn
and dwell beyond the sea,
You formed my inmost being;
you knit me in my mother’s womb.
I praise you, because I am wonderfully made;
wonderful are your works!
My very self you know. Psalm 139:1-3 and 7-9 and 13-14

Znasz mnie

Przenikasz i znasz mnie, Panie,
Ty wiesz, kiedy siedzę i wstaję.
Z daleka spostrzegasz moje myśli,
przyglądasz się, jak spoczywam i chodzę,
i znasz wszystkie moje drogi.
Gdzie ucieknę przed duchem Twoim?
Gdzie oddalę się od Twego oblicza?
Jeśli wstąpię do nieba, Ty tam jesteś,
jesteś przy mnie, gdy położę się w Otchłani.
Ty bowiem stworzyłeś moje wnętrze
i utkałeś mnie w łonie mej matki.
Sławię Cię, że mnie tak cudownie stworzyłeś,
godne podziwu są Twoje dzieła. Ps 139, 1-3. 7-9. 13-14

God calls, but the devil tempts

And to another he said, “Follow me.” But he replied, “Lord, let me go first and bury my father.” But he answered him, “Let the dead bury their dead. But you, go and proclaim the Kingdom of God.” And another said, “I will follow you, Lord, but first let me say farewell to my family at home.” Jesus answered him, “No one who sets a hand to the plow and looks to what was left behind is fit for the Kingdom of God.” LK 9:59-62
